Job Description
The School of Arts and Sciences at the American University in Dubai (AUD) invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology to begin teaching in Fall 2026. Therefore, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to biology education, research, and academic service at a prestigious private institution in Dubai.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related biological science from a Western-accredited institution at the time of appointment. Additionally, applicants should have evidence of successful teaching experience or must demonstrate significant potential and promise of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level. Furthermore, candidates are expected to meet standards for professional scholarship and to assist in curriculum development and other service to the department, school, and community.
Required Qualifications:
- To begin with, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related biological science from a Western-accredited institution at the time of appointment
- Furthermore, demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate courses
- Additionally, strong research background and evidence of scholarly productivity in their field of specialization
- Moreover, excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Furthermore, ability to collaborate and contribute to departmental curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives
Teaching Focus:
We are particularly interested in candidates capable of teaching Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, though we welcome applicants with expertise in related subfields such as:
- Biotechnology
- Cell Biology
- Metabolic Research
- Forensic Science
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating lab-based research, computational approaches, or fieldwork into the undergraduate curriculum
- Ability to teach a variety of foundational and specialized biology courses that align with departmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
- First and foremost, deliver high-quality instruction in Biology at the undergraduate level
- Additionally, demonstrate teaching effectiveness and excellence
- Furthermore, maintain active scholarship and research productivity
- Moreover, contribute to curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives
- In addition, provide student advising and academic support
- Furthermore, participate in service activities at the department, school, and community levels
