Job Description

The College of Information Technology (CIT) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position in Computer & AI Engineering, with a strong focus on Drones/UAVs, Robotics and Autonomous Systems.

Position Overview:
We seek exceptional candidates with a proven research background in Drones/UAVs and Autonomous Systems. Priority areas include UAV guidance, navigation and control (GNC), autonomy stacks (planning, decision-making, and control), UAV systems engineering and integration, robust and safe autonomy, multi-agent UAV coordination, and real-world deployment/validation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strengthen research programs in Drones/UAVs and Autonomous Systems
• Launch new multidisciplinary research initiatives and partnerships
• Contribute to development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses
• Engage and mentor students across various academic programs
• Publish in Q1 journals and top-tier conferences
• Secure competitive research grants

Minimum Qualification:

• PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or closely related discipline from a recognized institution
• Ability to teach undergraduate courses
• Industrial and professional experience (plus)
• Must be able to join UAEU by Fall 2026

Preferred Qualification:

• High research productivity in the applicable field
• Strong record of publications in Q1 journals and top-tier conferences
• Proven success in writing and securing competitive research grants
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Strong collaborative skills across departments and interdisciplinary programs
