Job Description
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), the first accredited smart learning university in the region, invites applications for Non-Resident Full-Time Faculty positions in Accounting at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. This role offers exceptional scholars the opportunity to advance innovative online education from outside the UAE.
Position Overview:
HBMSU is seeking exceptional scholars passionate about advancing innovative online education. Successful candidates will join a dynamic, learner-centric institution dedicated to excellence in smart learning. Non-resident faculty appointments are full-time roles that allow candidates to teach, conduct research, and engage in service remotely from outside the UAE while fully participating in HBMSU’s online learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting using HBMSU’s interactive smart learning platforms
- Engage learners across borders through fully online delivery
- Foster analytical and applied skills in accounting and related disciplines
Curriculum Development:
- Design and update course materials to incorporate emerging trends in accounting, digital transformation, and financial technologies
- Develop engaging digital course content for online delivery
Research:
- Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
- Maintain an active record of research and scholarly contributions in Accounting
- Apply multidisciplinary approaches to address modern accounting challenges
- Pursue research funding opportunities
Mentorship:
- Supervise and mentor students in research projects
- Provide academic guidance and scholarly support remotely
- Guide learners in rigorous research methodologies and ethical practices
Professional Development:
- Develop and deliver workshops and seminars for professionals in accounting
- Contribute to the academic community through ongoing scholarly engagement
Service:
- Contribute to program accreditation and academic governance
- Participate in outreach activities to enhance program visibility
- Engage in virtual campus events and initiatives
- Remain an integral part of HBMSU’s academic network while working abroad
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university (ABD candidates near completion will be considered)
- Strong scholarly preparation with ability to teach and publish effectively in English
- Strong record of research or clear evidence of research potential (ABDs should have working papers on track for submission to top-tier journals)
- Must meet School of Business’ AACSB academic qualification criteria
- Ability to teach and engage learners effectively in online undergraduate and graduate programs
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and methodologies
- Commitment to HBMSU’s mission of transforming learning through technology and innovation
