Job Description

The University of Kalba invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Mathematics within the College of Computing and Intelligent Systems, Computer Science Program. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to mathematics education at a growing university in Sharjah, UAE.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate mathematics courses that support computing and applied science disciplines. The appointee is expected to contribute effectively to teaching, curriculum development, student advising, and departmental service. Engagement in research and community service is encouraged in line with the university’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Course Delivery:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver mathematics courses, including (but not limited to):
  • Calculus I and Calculus II
  • Mathematics for Business
  • Probability and Statistics
• Develop course syllabi, teaching materials, assessments, and marking schemes in alignment with program learning outcomes
• Conduct formative and summative assessments
• Provide timely feedback to support student learning and progression

Student Support & Mentorship:

• Mentor and advise students academically
• Utilize digital and educational technologies to promote an interactive and effective learning environment

Curriculum Development:

• Contribute to curriculum development, program review, and continuous improvement activities within the department

Academic Service:

• Participate in departmental, college, and university administrative duties as assigned
• Engage in professional development, research activities (where applicable), and community service

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or closely related discipline from an internationally recognized university
• At least one year of teaching experience in mathematics courses at the university or college level (science background preferred)
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written)
