About the Role:

The successful candidate will join the College of Health Sciences to deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy education, combining clinical expertise with innovative teaching methodologies to prepare students for successful careers in respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Instruction:

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate respiratory therapy courses
• Create authentic learning experiences and clinical assessments
• Utilize simulation technology and practical training methods
• Implement innovative teaching approaches and digital tools
• Manage learning resources and clinical training equipment

Clinical Expertise:

• Maintain current Respiratory Therapist registration
• Integrate real-world clinical experience into teaching
• Ensure training aligns with international best practices
• Supervise practical skills development and clinical simulations

Curriculum Development:

• Participate in program development and enhancement
• Maintain accreditation documentation and portfolios
• Contribute to instructional improvement plans
• Develop industry-relevant curriculum content

• Participate in industry advisory committees
• Coordinate clinical placements and industry projects

Qualifications:
Education:

• Master’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related health field
• Undergraduate degree/diploma in Respiratory Therapy (if Master’s not in RT)
• Current Respiratory Therapist registration in good standing

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years teaching experience in post-secondary or industry training
• Minimum 5 years employment as Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Record of applied research participation/leadership (preferred)

Clinical Requirements:

• Current professional registration in good standing
• Maintenance of clinical competency standards
• Knowledge of international respiratory care practices
