Job Description

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) invites applications for exceptional faculty at the ranks of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in Mathematics and related disciplines to join the School of Engineering, Applied Science, and Technology (SEAST). Qualifications:


Applicants must hold a PhD in Mathematics with applied mathematics themes. Furthermore, candidates should have a strong record of teaching and research in:

  • Discrete Mathematics
  • Linear Algebra
  • Calculus I and Calculus II
  • Ordinary Differential Equations
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Numerical Modelling

Teaching Context:
Courses primarily support students enrolled in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and related computing programs.

Experience Requirements:

  • Assistant Professor: Minimum 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience in a top 300 QS-ranked university, with curriculum development and graduation project supervision experience
  • Associate Professor: Minimum 5 years of undergraduate/graduate teaching experience in a top 500 QS-ranked university, with MSc/PhD supervision experience. Familiarity with ABET accreditation is preferred

Teaching Areas:
Teaching will span five key thematic areas in mathematics:

  1. Discrete Mathematics
  2. Linear Algebra
  3. Calculus I and Calculus II
  4. Ordinary Differential Equations
  5. Probability and Statistics, and Numerical Modelling

Research Focus:
Successful candidates will drive high-impact research, producing 2–10 publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals (preferably Q1/Q2 Scopus-indexed, commensurate with academic rank). Research should advance innovation in Artificial Intelligence while addressing global challenges through scalable and real-time AI algorithms and applications.

All research is expected to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

Key Responsibilities:

  • First and foremost, serve as the program’s subject matter expert, supporting the Program Chair/Coordinator in operations and ensuring curriculum alignment with CUD, industry needs, and the latest developments in the field
  • Additionally, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics, ensuring engaging delivery, updated syllabi, and timely grading
  • Furthermore, supervise student projects, internships, and theses, while advising students—especially those at academic risk
  • Moreover, contribute to curriculum design, course development, and continuous program improvement
  • In addition, conduct research, publish in reputable journals, and engage with industry to advance applied mathematics practice
  • Additionally, participate in academic governance, accreditation processes, faculty meetings, and professional development
  • Furthermore, engage in community outreach, industry collaborations, and represent CUD at professional events
