Job Description
The College of Marine Sciences & Aquatic Biology invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position. This role focuses on delivering high-quality undergraduate education in marine biology with an emphasis on practical laboratory instruction.
Position Overview:
The Lecturer will join an academic team dedicated to excellence in marine science education. The position requires a passionate educator with strong practical teaching skills and commitment to student-centered learning in a coastal campus environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and coordinate introductory Marine Biology courses (101-level)
- Conduct and supervise laboratory sessions for undergraduate students
- Prepare laboratory materials and maintain safety compliance standards
- Develop and update teaching materials and curriculum content
- Assess student performance and provide academic feedback
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance laboratory operations and student engagement
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Marine Biology, Biology, or closely related field
- Strong background in practical laboratory instruction at undergraduate level
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to high-quality, student-centered teaching approaches
- Ability to coordinate multiple course sections effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Marine Biology or related discipline
- Demonstrated teaching and laboratory experience
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
