The Department of Finance and Economics in the College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Finance position, commencing in Spring 2026.

We seek an outstanding academic with a robust research profile and a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be prepared to contribute significantly to our undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, and DBA programs. Furthermore, they will play a vital role in enhancing our research output and supporting our academic accreditation endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a wide range of finance courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with a particular emphasis on sustainable finance.
• Conduct and publish high-quality, independent research in reputable, Scopus-indexed journals.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate student projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Contribute actively to curriculum development, program enhancement, and community service initiatives.
• Support the college’s ongoing efforts in obtaining and maintaining international academic program accreditations.
• Engage with industry partners and professional bodies to bridge academic knowledge with practical application.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• A Ph.D. in Finance from an internationally accredited university recognized by the UAE MoHE; specifically, a degree from a Western university is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of full-time university teaching experience in finance at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Moreover, a demonstrated ability to teach across all areas of finance is essential, particularly in sustainable finance.
• A strong publication record in high-quality, Scopus-indexed finance journals is required.
• Candidates should also possess working knowledge of international academic accreditation processes (e.g., AACSB).
• While not mandatory, bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is highly preferred.
