Job Description

The Biomedical Engineering Department at Alfaisal University invites applications for full time positions. Specific positions and areas of interest include:

1. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Biomedical Signals, Systems & Instrumentation Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus on biomedical signal processing, biomedical electronics, and instrumentation. The successful candidate should have a strong background in analyzing physiological signals, designing biomedical circuits and devices, and developing experimental/lab activities. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses and labs such as Biomedical Signals and Systems, Biomedical Digital Signal Processing, Biomedical Electronics, and Biomedical Instrumentation, conducting research in relevant areas, and mentoring senior design projects.

2. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Biomedical Imaging & Image Processing Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related discipline with a focus on biomedical imaging and image analysis. The successful candidate should have a strong background in CT/MRI/ultrasound or related imaging modalities, image reconstruction, and/or AI-based medical image processing. Responsibilities include teaching courses such as Biomedical Imaging Systems I & II and Biomedical Image Processing, conducting research in imaging and image-guided applications, and supervising undergraduate research and capstone projects.

3. Assistant, Associate or Professor of Healthcare Systems & Bioinformatics Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. The successful candidate should have a strong background in healthcare information systems, clinical data analytics, and/or bioinformatics. Responsibilities include teaching courses such as Information Technology for Biomedical Engineers, Healthcare Management Systems, and Bioinformatics, conducting research in digital health and data-driven decision support, and contributing to the development of new courses and tracks in health data science.

4. Instructor or Lecturer Applicants must have at least a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related area. Preference is given to those with lab development and teaching experience. The candidate should have a proven ability to support teaching across core BME courses and labs, including Introduction to Biomedical Engineering and Lab, Biomedical Electronics Lab, Biomedical Imaging and Instrumentation Labs, and senior design. The candidate is expected to engage students in hands-on learning and assist in curriculum and laboratory development.

The remuneration package includes an internationally competitive salary, housing allowance, relocation allowance.
