Job Description

The College of Information Technology (CIT) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks. CIT has engaged in an ambitious reorganization effort aiming to harness the prevalence of computing and the rise of artificial intelligence to advance science and technology innovation.

Position Overview:
CIT will build on the strength of its current research programs to create new multidisciplinary research initiatives and partnerships across and beyond the university campus. The College will also expand its education portfolio with new multidisciplinary degree programs.

New Degree Programs:

• BSc in Artificial Intelligence
• BSc in Data Science
• BSc in Computational Linguistics (jointly with College of Humanities and Social Sciences)
• MSc in IoT
• PhD in Informatics and Computing

Research Focus Areas:

• Theoretical foundations of Data Sciences
• AI/ML applications in:
  • Smart Health Systems
  • Cloud Computing
  • Business Intelligence and Decision Support Systems

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Information Science, or closely related areas from a recognized university
• Established record of discipline-specific research publications in internationally recognized journals and conferences
• Demonstrated experience writing and securing grants and contracts
• Evidence of excellence in teaching and student supervision at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple departments and programs

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong research record in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Informatics
• Research alignment with College’s strategic areas

Faculty Rank:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience
