Job Description

Horizon University College (HUC) invites applications for a faculty position in International Business within the School of Computing. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to teaching excellence, research productivity, and community engagement in a dynamic academic environment.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching, develop course materials, actively carry out research, and participate in various community service activities. Faculty members help students develop knowledge, skills, and competencies while providing academic advising and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

• Carry teaching load as per faculty handbook
• Prepare lectures, tutorials, class exercises, quizzes, and tests to achieve learning outcomes
• Deliver courses as per provided course outlines
• Develop teaching materials and courses related to International Business
• Monitor, assess, record, and disseminate student performance periodically
• Evaluate and grade student work promptly with appropriate feedback
• Submit examination papers and answer keys per schedules and deadlines
• Maintain online attendance sheets and counsel students regarding attendance
• Reschedule missed classes within semester schedule with Dean’s approval

Student Support:

• Counsel and advise students to achieve academic excellence
• Maintain availability for students outside classroom following advisory schedule
• Coordinate with Dean of Student Affairs regarding student matters

Research & Scholarship:

• Conduct scholarly research and publish papers in national and international journals
• Participate in conferences
• Maintain research output as per HUC’s research policy

Academic Service:

• Submit Teaching Portfolio and Course Reports for Teaching Effectiveness Committee approval
• Meet all administrative deadlines (grades, question papers, course files, quality checks)
• Participate effectively in committee activities
• Support accreditation processes including ABET and SOIT
• Attend Pre-Semester Orientation and collect course requirements
• Meet with group leaders as per issued calendar

Institutional Representation:

• Represent and help brand the school and university
• Support internationalization, admission, and placement of students
• Facilitate exchange programs and national/international accreditations
• Build public relations and maintain functional relationships with other departments
• Plan and organize academic and extracurricular activities

Community Engagement:

• Conduct services to HUC and community in coordination with services committee
• Initiate and participate in community service activities

• IT skills including MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. Degree as per position requirements and Faculty Handbook guidelines
• Proven track record in academics and research

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience

Key Performance Indicators:

• 80% and above in student feedback and course file evaluation
• Research output as per HUC research policy
• Number of community services initiated and activities participated in
• Contribution to IE committees and accreditation processes

Organizational Relationships:

• Reporting to: Dean – School of Computing
• Internal Communication: Dean, Faculty, HODs, Staff, and Students
• External Communication: As per Dean’s office requirements
