Job Description

MEC is seeking an English Language Lecturer to join the Department of Foundation Studies.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality English-language teaching, curriculum and assessment development, student-centred learning, educational technology, and continuous improvement of module delivery and student outcomes.

English Language Lecturer Oman – Position Overview

The English Language Lecturer will contribute across:

• English-language teaching.
• Curriculum development.

Teaching Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver high-quality teaching.
• Apply engaging teaching approaches.
• Use student-centred teaching methods.
• Support effective student learning.

Curriculum and Assessment Development

Responsibilities include developing:

• Curriculum.
• Teaching materials.
• Assessments.
• Learning resources.

Module Delivery and Student Outcomes

The Lecturer will:

• Monitor module delivery.
• Review student learning outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Innovative Teaching and Educational Technology

Faculty members will be expected to:

• Apply innovative teaching methods.
• Use educational technologies.
• Support contemporary teaching and learning approaches.

Required Qualification

Applicants must hold a:

• Bachelor’s degree in English.

Teaching Experience

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of one year of teaching experience.

Academic Requirement

Candidates must have:

• CGPA / degree classification of Good or above.

English Language Requirement

Applicants must have:

• IELTS overall band score of 6.5 or above.

Professional Certification

Applicants must hold:

• CELTA certification.

Additional Duties

The successful candidate will also undertake:
