Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. This senior leadership role offers an opportunity to shape academic excellence and drive transformative education in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Position Overview:
The Dean will provide visionary leadership for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, guiding academic programs, research initiatives, and community engagement. The position requires an accomplished academic leader with a distinguished record in higher education administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the college
- Develop and implement academic programs that bridge disciplinary boundaries
- Advance research excellence and secure funding for scholarly initiatives
- Foster stakeholder engagement and community collaboration
- Support faculty development and student success initiatives
- Align college activities with HBKU’s strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030
Qualifications and Requirements:
- PhD in Social Sciences or Humanities from an accredited institution
- Earned rank of Professor at an established, recognized university
- Proven record of academic leadership and administrative success
- Distinguished scholarly research portfolio with publications and funded projects
- Forward-thinking approach to humanities and social sciences education
- Experience in program development and strategic planning
- Knowledge of the region and Arabic language proficiency are desirable
