Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) invites applications for open-rank faculty positions in Computational Biology. The School of Digital Public Health seeks passionate researchers and educators to advance AI-driven healthcare innovation in Abu Dhabi.

Position Overview:
Faculty members will join a rapidly expanding school that aims to grow to 60 faculty members within 3-4 years. Successful candidates will deliver high-quality instruction, mentor graduate students, and conduct interdisciplinary research using unique datasets from the groundbreaking Human Phenotype Project.

Research Focus Areas:

  • Computational and Systems Biology
  • Multi-omics and Integrative Data Analysis
  • Foundation AI Models for Healthcare
  • Personalized Medicine and Biomarker Discovery
  • Population-level Cohort and EHR Analysis
  • Biomedical Imaging and Medical Informatics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach graduate courses in computational biology and related fields
  • Conduct innovative research leveraging the Human Phenotype Project’s longitudinal data
  • Mentor graduate students and supervise research projects
  • Contribute to curriculum development and academic program growth
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across MBZUAI’s AI research ecosystem
  • Publish high-impact research and secure external funding

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, or closely related field
  • Demonstrated excellence in innovative research and publications
  • Strong interest in student mentorship and academic collaboration
  • Experience in AI/ML applications for healthcare and life sciences
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams across computational and biological domains
