Job Description

Horizon University in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in International Business/Economics, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. This Professor in International Business role combines teaching, research, academic leadership, and institutional service within the university’s academic community.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities in alignment with program and course learning outcomes
• Develop, review, and enhance course materials, curricula, and assessment strategies using innovative and technology-enabled approaches
• Foster student engagement through effective, student-centered teaching methodologies
• Monitor student performance, provide timely feedback, and uphold academic integrity and inclusivity
• Contribute to curriculum design, program development, and periodic reviews to ensure academic relevance and quality standards
• Integrate research, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary perspectives into teaching and learning activities
• Conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research in recognized journals, conferences, and other academic outlets
• Pursue research funding, industry collaborations, and strategic partnerships that support institutional research objectives
• Supervise student research and scholarly activities while promoting ethical research practices and academic excellence
• Provide academic advising, mentoring, and guidance to support students’ academic, research, and career development
• Participate in academic governance, committee work, policy development, and institutional strategic initiatives
• Provide academic leadership and contribute to faculty development, peer review, and knowledge-sharing activities
• Engage in community outreach, consultancy, and professional service activities that enhance the university’s societal impact
• Represent the university in professional bodies, academic networks, and industry engagements at local and international levels
• Support quality assurance, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives across the institution
• Establish and maintain collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners
• Participate in joint research, teaching, and knowledge-exchange initiatives that strengthen the university’s global presence
• Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with advancements in teaching, research, and disciplinary expertise
• Support institutional initiatives related to innovation, digital transformation, and academic excellence
• Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance with university policies and procedures
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required academic and administrative records through university systems and portals
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Dean or university management in support of institutional objectives

Qualification

• Doctoral degree in the required discipline
• Excellent academic track record
• Professional membership and certifications

Teaching and Research Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of specialization at a reputed institution
• At least 2 years of experience in academic administration
• Strong record of research and publications (mainly in Scopus, ABDC, etc.)

Academic Skills

• Experience using AI and application software in teaching
• Experience developing technology-based teaching-learning resources
• Demonstrated ability to develop affinity with students with a variety of learning needs
• Experience working with a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
