About the Role

Horizon University in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Cyber Security, with rank based on qualifications and experience. This Professor in Cyber Security role covers teaching, research, and academic service, with strong emphasis on industry relevance and technology-enabled learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in alignment with program and course learning outcomes
• Develop, review, and enhance course materials, curricula, and assessment strategies using innovative and technology-enabled approaches
• Foster student engagement through effective, student-centered teaching methodologies and active learning practices
• Monitor student performance, provide timely feedback, and uphold academic integrity and inclusivity
• Contribute to curriculum design, program development, accreditation, and periodic program review activities
• Integrate research, industry applications, experiential learning, and emerging technologies into teaching and learning activities
• Conduct and publish high-quality scholarly research in reputable journals, conferences, and other recognized academic outlets
• Pursue research funding, industry collaborations, and interdisciplinary projects that support institutional research objectives
• Supervise student research projects, theses, dissertations, capstone projects, and scholarly activities
• Provide academic advising, mentoring, and career guidance to students
• Participate in academic governance, committee work, policy implementation, and institutional initiatives
• Contribute to faculty development, peer review, and knowledge-sharing activities within the School and university
• Engage in community outreach, consultancy, professional service, and industry engagement activities
• Represent the university in professional bodies, academic networks, conferences, and industry forums
• Support quality assurance, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Establish and maintain collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners
• Participate in joint research, teaching, and knowledge-exchange initiatives that strengthen the university’s academic reputation
• Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with advancements in computing disciplines, pedagogy, and research methodologies
• Support institutional initiatives related to innovation, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and teaching excellence
• Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance with university policies and procedures
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required academic and administrative records through university systems and portals
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Dean or university management in support of institutional objectives

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution
• Professional memberships, industry certifications, or relevant credentials will be considered an advantage
• Appointment rank will be based on qualifications, academic achievements, research profile, and relevant experience

Teaching and Research Experience

• Minimum of two years of university-level teaching and/or research experience in the relevant field of specialization
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching
• Experience supervising student research projects, theses, dissertations, and capstone projects
• Strong record of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences, including Scopus-indexed, IEEE, ACM, ABDC, or equivalent venues
• Evidence of research potential and commitment to ongoing scholarly activity

Industry Experience (Highly Desirable)

• Professional, consultancy, or industry experience related to the area of specialization
• Demonstrated ability to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical and industry-relevant applications
• Familiarity with current industry tools, platforms, frameworks, and emerging technologies

Academic & Digital Skills

• Experience integrating AI tools and technology-enhanced learning resources into teaching and assessment
• Experience with blended, hybrid, and online learning environments
• Ability to develop innovative and technology-based teaching and learning resources
• Demonstrated ability to engage and support students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of multidisciplinary teams
