The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Astrodynamics and Space Missions. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in Astrodynamics and Space Missions. The successful candidate will develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, publish impactful research in top-ranked refereed journals, and build reputation nationally and internationally to elevate UAEU’s international reputation.

Research Areas of Interest:

• Autonomous Space Navigation, Guidance and Control
• Precision Landing and Rendezvous
• Small Satellite Missions
• Interplanetary Trajectory Optimization
• Space Traffic Management
• Other sub-areas of expertise within Astrodynamics and Space Missions

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead sustainable, innovative, independent research program
• Publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals
• Build reputation nationally and internationally
• Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and education
• Develop courses to enhance undergraduate and graduate programs
• Mentor students

Minimum Qualification:

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field from an internationally recognized university
• Research track-record commensurate with rank applied for
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses

Preferred Qualification:

• B.Sc./B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering (preferred)
• Industrial and professional experience (plus)
• Expertise in Astrodynamics and Space Missions
