Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) invites applications for passionate and highly motivated Teaching Faculty positions in the field of Artificial Intelligence. This opportunity focuses on delivering courses for the Master in Applied Artificial Intelligence (MAAI) program, designed for mid-to-senior level career professionals.

Position Overview:
The successful candidates will deliver high-quality instruction, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development in a program addressing critical skills gaps in AI applications within industry, research, and government sectors. Faculty will collaborate with leading AI researchers and contribute to the university’s growth as a global hub for AI excellence.

About the Master in Applied AI Program:

• Combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience
• Equips students with advanced skills for adapting and implementing AI technologies
• Aligned with Abu Dhabi’s knowledge economy vision
• Supports national AI strategies and economic/societal development
• Industry-focused, project-based curriculum emphasizing applied and entrepreneurial skills
• Prepares graduates to create AI innovations with societal, economic, and environmental impact

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

• Deliver world-class education with innovative approaches to teaching and learning
• Contribute to continuous development of course rigor and relevance
• Engage with industry to discover innovative projects for student learning
• Support students in their research projects
• Supervise student internships and industry research projects

Industry Engagement:

• Liaise with industry partners to achieve program learning outcomes
• Source experts and qualified guest lecturers for the program
• Maintain strong familiarity with UAE business landscape and industry environment
• Apply advanced technologies in solving real business challenges

Professional Development:

• Maintain appropriate scholarly or professional development activity
• Keep updated with developments in the field
• Follow scientific developments and participate in societal interaction
• Engage in international cooperation in the field

Institutional Contribution:

• Contribute to overall university work through committee participation
• Represent the institution and faculty on appropriate committees and groups

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science or closely related area (preferred)
• Demonstrated excellence in conducting innovative and impactful research
• Experience applying advanced technologies in solving real business challenges
• Interest in mentoring graduate students
• Strong industry experience in AI applications
• Familiarity with UAE business environment (advantage)

Alternative Qualifications (Exceptional Cases):

• Candidates without PhD may be considered with outstanding experience in:
  • AI application development
  • AI education and training
  • Industry practice and implementation
