Job Description

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Aerodynamics. Qualified candidates at all ranks will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.

Position Overview:
We seek a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in Aerodynamics. The successful candidate will develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, publish impactful research in top-ranked refereed journals, and build reputation nationally and internationally to elevate UAEU’s international reputation.

Research Areas of Interest:

• Innovative flow control approaches
• Innovative approaches to improve aerodynamic efficiency
• Shaping for advanced air mobility
• Boundary layer dynamics
• Aerodynamic design methodologies
• Other sub-areas within Aerodynamics

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead sustainable, innovative, independent research program
• Publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals
• Build reputation nationally and internationally
• Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and education
• Develop courses to enhance undergraduate and graduate programs
• Mentor students and advise undergraduate students

Minimum Qualification:

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field from an internationally recognized university
• Research track-record commensurate with rank applied for
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses

Preferred Qualification:

• B.Sc./B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering (preferred)
• Industrial and professional experience (plus)
• Expertise in Aerodynamics

Expected Skills:

• Develop and lead sustainable, innovative, independent research program
• Publish impactful research in top-ranked refereed journals
• Dedication to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
• Experience in/strong commitment to engineering education, curriculum, advising undergraduates, and pedagogical approaches
