Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level (Associate Professor level considered for exceptional research profiles) in Theoretical Physics, preferably with experience in quantum physics or quantum information.

Position Overview:
Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable strong research capability enabling development and sustainment of an internally and externally funded research program, and active engagement in promoting the growth of UAEU. Candidates will teach Physics courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Theoretical Physics (preferably in quantum physics or quantum information)
• Teaching experience
• Good number of Q1 publications as determined by Scimago Journal Ranking system
• Experience in securing research grants
• Student supervision experience
• Publication track record in top-tier journals

2. Updated CV showing Biodata, academic qualifications, professional experience, work history, publications, conferences, thesis supervisions, research grants, scientific awards, h-index, Google Scholar citations
3. Research Statement describing research program to be developed and any special instrumentation required (1-2 pages)
4. Teaching statement

Note: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and need to arrange for two letters of recommendation to be emailed to the department chair.
