Job Description

The College of Computing and Information Technology at Kingdom University Bahrain invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position in Artificial Intelligence or Cybersecurity. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to computing education and research at a dynamic university in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will teach assigned courses within the college at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Responsibilities include teaching, research, student mentorship, academic service, and contribution to quality assurance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Deliver assigned courses in Artificial Intelligence or Cybersecurity at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Engage students through effective instruction and learning activities
• Develop and update course materials and curricula in AI or Cybersecurity disciplines

Research & Scholarship:

• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate theses
• Engage in thesis defense sessions
• Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to scholarly activities in AI or Cybersecurity fields

Academic Service:

• Participate in committees, councils, conferences, and other academic, research, and administrative activities at the college and institutional levels
• Contribute to quality assurance and regulatory reviews, including program and institutional evaluations required by higher education bodies
• Support global ranking initiatives
• Comply with the college and management’s strategic and operational plans
• Mentor, supervise, and advise students as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited institution
• Associate Professor rank with appropriate academic credentials and experience
• Demonstrated teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Strong background in AI or Cybersecurity principles and applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to student mentorship and academic excellence
• Ability to contribute to quality assurance and accreditation processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications in AI or Cybersecurity
• Industry experience in AI development or cybersecurity practice
• Track record of research publications in high-impact journals
• Experience supervising postgraduate theses
• Familiarity with program accreditation and quality assurance processes
• Experience contributing to global ranking initiatives
• Engagement with industry and professional bodies
