Job Description

NYU Abu Dhabi’s Division of Science invites applications for open-rank faculty positions in Mathematics. The Mathematics Program seeks accomplished scholars to contribute to research and teaching initiatives, particularly supporting the new Master’s program in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI.

Position Overview:
Successful candidates will join a growing mathematics department as part of a multi-year expansion plan. Faculty positions are available at assistant, associate, and full professor levels, with appointments beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Research Focus Areas:

• Probability and Statistics for Data Science and AI
• Optimization, Algorithms, and Computational Mathematics
• Information Theory and Learning Theory
• Foundational Mathematics for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
• Mathematical Underpinnings of Modern AI Systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct innovative research in mathematical foundations of data science and AI
• Teach in the Master’s program in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI
• Deliver mathematics courses at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Mentor students and supervise research projects
• Contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement
• Participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives across NYU’s global network

Qualifications and Requirements:

• PhD in Mathematics or closely related field
• Strong research record or demonstrated potential
• Commitment to teaching excellence and student mentorship
• Ability to conduct high-quality mathematical research
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
