Description

The Division of Social Science is inviting applications for an Assistant/Associate Academic Specialist (Open Rank) position. The Academic Specialist supports NYU Abu Dhabi’s educational mission by assisting faculty with courses in the Social Sciences. Academic Specialists — equivalent to teaching assistants or fellows at other institutions — facilitate discussion sections, hold review sessions, provide assistance with course preparation, development, and assessment, and take part in divisional activities. Participation in professional development opportunities, such as attending social science conferences, is expected and supported. The incumbent will primarily support quantitatively-oriented courses in the Business, Organizations, and Society (BOS) and Economics programs.

Qualifications

NYUAD welcomes applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or another Social Science discipline; candidates with a Master’s degree or Ph.D. are especially desired. The ideal candidate will be able to support recitation sections for courses in the Business and Economics programs, as well as required courses in Statistics, Data Analysis, and Econometrics. An ideal applicant would also be an excellent communicator, both orally and in written English.
