Job Description

Muscat University invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management to join the Faculty of Transport & Logistics. Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, operations management, quantitative methods, logistics modelling, and performance management.

Position Overview:
The post holder will work with the Faculty Director to ensure efficient delivery of modules and will be responsible for curriculum management and enhancement activities complying with Muscat University standards and Omani accreditation authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching on Logistics and Supply Chain Management undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Construct, plan, and assess student assignments
  • Liaise with Faculty Director on student matters including timetabling and academic support
  • Undertake pastoral services role
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity for publication in quality academic journals
  • Engage in industry collaborations and consultancy
  • Engage with external logistics bodies and industry to enrich student experience
  • Participate in university meetings including Board of Examiners and Programme Reviews
  • Travel (including internationally) on university affairs as required

Qualifications & Experience:

Senior Lecturer Rank:

  • PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or closely related field
  • Exemplary research profile
  • Minimum 3 years post-doctoral HE teaching (including master’s level)
  • Experience of UK HE sectors and/or Omani and GCC HE environments (advantage)
  • Strong links to industry and international context experience

Lecturer Rank:

  • PhD in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or closely related field (preferred)
  • Experience of HE teaching
  • 1-2 years’ experience teaching in Transportation and Supply Chain Management in Higher Education

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in Omani and GCC HE environments
  • Strong links to industry and international context
  • Academic accreditation or quality assurance experience
  • Strong track record in research and scholarly activities
