Job Description

The University of Kalba invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Computing and Intelligent Systems. This senior leadership role requires an accomplished academic leader to advance computing education and research while strengthening the College’s regional and global impact in technology fields.

Position Overview:
The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader, providing strategic direction for computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a distinguished record in technology education and proven leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership & Governance:

• Provide visionary leadership for computing and intelligent systems education
• Lead curriculum development in computer science, AI, and cybersecurity
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across technology disciplines
• Ensure effective governance and strategic planning

Accreditation & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure compliance with UAE CAA and international accreditation standards
• Lead ABET, EUR-ACE, or equivalent accreditation processes
• Benchmark programs against global computing education frameworks
• Oversee continuous improvement in technology education

Faculty & Student Development:

• Recruit and retain high-quality faculty in computing fields
• Promote research excellence in AI, cybersecurity, and data science
• Enhance student employability in digital and technology sectors
• Foster inclusive, innovative academic culture

Research & Industry Engagement:

• Secure external funding for computing research initiatives
• Build partnerships with technology industry and government
• Establish research centers in emerging technology areas
• Promote digital transformation and technological innovation

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in Computer Science, AI, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Academic credentials suitable for Full Professor appointment
• Distinguished record in computing research and education
• Significant senior leadership experience in technology programs
• Proven expertise in strategic planning and budget management
• In-depth knowledge of computing accreditation standards (ABET preferred)
• Experience with international quality frameworks
• Strong industry engagement and partnership building

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with UAE/GCC higher education landscape
• Experience in international computing education collaborations
• Record of securing research funding in technology fields
• Ability to enhance institutional visibility in computing and AI
