The University of Kalba invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. This senior leadership role requires a visionary academic leader to advance the College’s mission in teaching, research, and community engagement while strengthening its regional and global profile.

Position Overview:
The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader, providing strategic direction across all College operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate a distinguished scholarly record and proven leadership experience in higher education administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership & Governance:

• Provide visionary leadership for teaching, research, and community engagement
• Lead curriculum development and program innovation
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across arts, humanities, and social sciences
• Ensure effective governance, transparency, and accountability

Accreditation & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure compliance with UAE CAA accreditation standards
• Lead preparation for national and international accreditation reviews
• Benchmark programs against global quality frameworks (QAA, WASC, ESG)
• Oversee continuous improvement and learning outcomes assessment

Faculty & Student Development:

• Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality faculty and staff
• Promote research excellence and pedagogical innovation
• Enhance student employability and professional readiness
• Foster inclusive, collaborative academic culture

Resource Management & Engagement:

• Develop and manage College budget and resources
• Build partnerships with government, cultural institutions, and private sector
• Expand international collaborations and exchange programs
• Advance cultural preservation and heritage initiatives

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in arts, humanities, or social sciences
• Academic credentials suitable for Full Professor appointment
• Distinguished record of teaching, research, and service
• Significant senior leadership experience in higher education
• Proven expertise in strategic planning and budget management
• In-depth knowledge of UAE CAA accreditation standards
• Experience with international quality frameworks
• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with UAE/GCC higher education landscape
• Experience in international education and cross-cultural engagement
• Record of securing research funding and building external partnerships
• Ability to enhance institutional global visibility and rankings
