Position Overview:
The Dean of the College of Health Sciences is the chief academic and administrative officer of the college. Furthermore, the role is responsible for strategic planning, academic quality, faculty development, student success, accreditation, research advancement, and financial sustainability, while ensuring alignment with AUE’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • To begin with, candidates must have a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Furthermore, a minimum of 5 years of academic leadership experience (Associate Dean or higher) at an accredited university
  • Additionally, a strong record of teaching, research, and service in health sciences
  • Moreover, demonstrated engagement with healthcare institutions, regulatory bodies, and government agencies
  • Furthermore, proven experience in strategic planning, program development, accreditation, and faculty leadership
  • Finally, excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with international and professional accreditation bodies (e.g., CAA, WFME, CCNE, ACEN, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in healthcare education, clinical training, digital health, and interdisciplinary learning
  • Experience in fundraising, grant acquisition, and budget management
  • Ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and research-driven academic environment

Reporting & Supervision:
The Dean supervises and provides leadership to:

  • Associate Dean(s)
  • Department Chair(s)
  • Program Director(s)
  • College Coordinator(s)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • First and foremost, provide visionary leadership to advance the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Health Sciences
  • Additionally, align academic programs and initiatives with national, regional, and international healthcare trends

2. Academic Excellence:

  • Furthermore, oversee curriculum development, program delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Moreover, ensure academic programs meet international standards and professional healthcare requirements

3. Faculty Development:

  • In addition, recruit, mentor, evaluate, and support faculty in teaching, research, and service
  • Furthermore, promote professional development, scholarship, and clinical engagement

4. Research & Innovation:

  • Additionally, foster a strong research culture in health sciences, public health, and applied clinical research
  • Moreover, support faculty and students in securing research grants and publishing scholarly work

5. Student Success:

  • Furthermore, enhance student recruitment, retention, progression, and employability
  • Additionally, strengthen clinical training, internships, and experiential learning opportunities

6. Healthcare & Community Partnerships:

  • Moreover, build and maintain partnerships with hospitals, clinics, healthcare organizations, and government agencies
  • Furthermore, promote collaborative initiatives that enhance healthcare education and workforce readiness

7. Resource & Financial Management:

  • In addition, oversee budgeting, staffing, and effective resource allocation within the college
  • Additionally, support revenue generation through partnerships, grants, and academic initiatives

8. Policy & Professional Engagement:

  • Furthermore, represent the college in professional, regulatory, and policy-related forums
  • Moreover, contribute to healthcare education policy development at institutional and national levels

9. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:

  • Additionally, promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across academic programs, faculty, and students

10. Accreditation & Compliance:

  • Moreover, ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements

11. Advancement & Fundraising:

Compensation:
