Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), a leading institution renowned for excellence in higher education and innovation, invites applications for a dynamic Associate Professor or Professor in Operational Management with expertise in supervising PhD research. This role is central to advancing the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Quality Management program, which integrates cutting-edge operational strategies with quality management principles.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will drive academic and research excellence through teaching, curriculum development, research, mentorship, and service. The appointee will contribute to a program that prepares scholars to address national and global challenges through a dual focus on operational efficiency and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Deliver graduate-level courses in:
  • Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics
  • Service Quality and Excellence
  • Implementation and Applications of Quality Management
  • Seminar in Quality Management
• Experience with online/hybrid instruction is preferred

Curriculum Development:

• Update course content to reflect emerging trends such as AI-driven operations and Quality Management
• Integrate cutting-edge operational strategies with quality management principles

Research:

• Publish in high-impact Scopus/WoS-indexed journals
• Demonstrate ability to obtain research funding
• Maintain a strong record of research excellence

Mentorship:

• Supervise PhD candidates through all stages of dissertation work
• Guide doctoral students in operational and quality management topics
• Provide scholarly mentorship and academic support

Service:

• Contribute to program accreditation efforts
• Foster industry partnerships
• Enhance program visibility through academic and professional networks

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• PhD in Operational Management, Quality Management, or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution
• Proven teaching expertise in the specified graduate-level courses
• Strong publication record in high-impact journals
• Demonstrated success in guiding doctoral dissertations, particularly in operational or quality management topics
• Experience with online/hybrid instruction (preferred)

Rank and Appointment Criteria:

Associate Professor:

• Minimum 5 years of post-PhD academic experience
• Evidence of teaching excellence
• Impactful research record
• Demonstrated PhD mentorship experience

Full Professor:

• Minimum 10 years of academic experience
• Distinguished leadership in research (e.g., major grants, editorial roles)
• Sustained record of doctoral supervision
• Evidence of high-quality teaching and impactful research contributions
