Job Description

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) invites applications for Associate Professor or Assistant Professor positions specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) . The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service in AI and related fields.

General Duties:

• Teach academic courses within specialization in accordance with quality standards
• Supervise graduation projects and postgraduate theses (Master’s and PhD)
• Provide academic advising and support students in academic and career planning
• Attend departmental and college council meetings
• Participate in internal and external committees
• Prepare and publish scholarly research in relevant field
• Offer scientific consultations and participate in conferences and symposia
• Contribute to community service through workshops, seminars, and research studies
• Build local and international partnerships
• Contribute to development of academic policies and quality assurance standards
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise student projects, and undertake active research roles in AI

Specific Requirements:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
• Minimum 3 years experience in university teaching and scientific research
• Proven record of excellence in teaching
• Strong communication skills
• English is the medium of delivery
• Qualifications must be obtained through full-time study (distance, affiliation, or blended learning not accepted)
