Job Description

The University of Kalba invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Management with specialization in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management within the College of Business Administration. Therefore, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and curriculum development at a dynamic university in Sharjah, UAE.

Position Overview:
Applicants must hold a PhD in Management or a closely related discipline. Furthermore, preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research expertise in one or more areas of organizational behavior and human resource management, such as strategic HRM, international HRM, people analytics, and employment and development. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong research portfolio in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, demonstrated by publications in high-impact journals.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

• First and foremost, design, develop, and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in management, organizational behavior, and human resource management
• Additionally, use effective and student-focused pedagogies
• Furthermore, contribute to the review, development, and enhancement of the management curriculum
• Moreover, ensure alignment with contemporary academic and industry trends

Research & Scholarship:

• In addition, conduct, publish, and disseminate advanced research in the candidate’s area of specialization
• Furthermore, apply and demonstrate sound knowledge of research methodologies in both teaching and scholarly work
• Additionally, collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects
• Moreover, seek external research funding where appropriate

Student Support:

• Furthermore, participate in academic advising, student mentoring, and supervision of research projects
• Additionally, guide students in their academic and professional development

Representation:

• Moreover, represent the University of Kalba in national and international conferences, academic forums, and professional associations

Industry Engagement:

• Additionally, foster engagement with industry and community partners
• Furthermore, support student internships and professional development opportunities

Academic Service:

• Moreover, contribute to college and university service, including committee work and governance activities
• Additionally, engage in outreach initiatives that support the university’s mission and enhance its societal impact

Required Qualifications:

• To begin with, candidates must have a PhD in Management, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Furthermore, a strong publication record in reputable academic journals or clear evidence of the potential to publish in leading journals
• Additionally, demonstrated expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Moreover, at least one year of experience at the Assistant Professor level or in an equivalent teaching role
• Furthermore, proven ability to implement innovative, student-centered, and technology-enhanced teaching practices
• Additionally, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
• Finally, a clear commitment to professional development and staying current with developments in management and organizational studies
