Job Description

Muscat University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Digital Marketing to join the Faculty of Business and Management. Applications are welcome from candidates with experience in marketing, digital marketing, and related fields.

Position Overview:
The post holder will work with the Faculty Dean to ensure efficient delivery of modules and will be responsible for curriculum management and enhancement activities complying with Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching on Marketing modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Construct, plan, and assess student assignments
  • Liaise with Faculty Dean on student matters including timetabling and academic support
  • Undertake role of Student Advisor/Personal Tutor
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity for publication in international academic journals
  • Engage with external marketing bodies and industry to enrich student experience
  • Participate in university meetings including Board of Examiners and Programme Reviews
  • Develop and supervise research projects (Assistant Professor level)
  • Enhance collaborative activities with industry

Qualifications & Experience:

Assistant Professor Rank:

  • PhD in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or closely related field from accredited university (ideally UK based and AACSB accredited)
  • Good research profile
  • Minimum 3 years post-doctoral HE teaching experience (including master’s level)
  • Experience of UK HE sector and/or Omani and GCC HE environments (advantage)
  • Strong links to industry and international context experience

Lecturer Rank:

  • PhD in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or closely related field
  • Experience of HE teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CMI or related marketing qualification/experience
  • Fellowship of HE Academy or willingness to work towards (within 18 months)
  • Professional qualifications/memberships of recognized bodies
  • Academic accreditation or quality assurance experience
  • Strong track record in research and scholarly activities
