The College of Business at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) invites applications for a faculty position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Banking and Financial Technology. Therefore, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to fintech education at Qatar’s first national university specializing in applied and technical education.

About UDST:
University of Doha for Science and Technology was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. Furthermore, UDST has over 70 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, diplomas, and certificates. Additionally, the university houses 5 colleges:

• College of Business
• College of Computing and Information Technology
• College of Engineering and Technology
• College of Health Sciences
• College of General Education

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of a broad range of courses within the Banking and Financial Technology domain. Furthermore, they will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment. Additionally, the successful candidate will liaise with industry and other educational institutions, participate in industry advisory committees, and coordinate, manage, and control projects within the specified program area.

Required Education:

• To begin with, candidates must have a PhD and a master’s degree in Banking and Financial Technology or a related discipline from an internationally recognized university with an undergraduate degree from an accredited university

Assistant Professor

Required Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment
• Preferably 3 years of employment experience in banking or a related field
• Demonstrate knowledge in utilizing a Trading Room to enhance student learning through hands-on experience in making financial decisions
• A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high-quality publications in top-tier journals
• Excellent record of supervising high-caliber research students
• Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Certification: CFA and/or FRM
• Diploma in Education (e.g., Post-secondary Education, Adult Education, or Vocational Education) is preferred
• 6+ years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline (Derivatives, Investment Analysis, Portfolio Management, and Risk Management)
• Teaching experience in post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment
• Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects
• Proficient in Power BI: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Power BI to extract, transform, and visualize data from various sources

Associate Professor

Required Experience:

• A minimum of 8 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment
• Preferably 3 years of employment experience in banking or a related field
• Demonstrate knowledge in utilizing a Trading Room to enhance student learning through hands-on experience in making financial decisions
• A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high-quality publications in top-tier journals
• Excellent record of supervising high-caliber research students
• Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry
