Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), a licensed and accredited university in Dubai recognized globally for its commitment to delivering learner-centered, high-quality smart learning, invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor position in Accounting. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative accounting education at a leading smart university in the UAE.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will play a vital role within the School of Business and Quality Management and is expected to be present on the Dubai campus during working hours. Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, mentorship, professional development, research, and service to support academic programs and accreditations.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Deliver engaging courses utilizing advanced online learning platforms and innovative technologies
• Teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the Accounting program

Curriculum Development:

• Design instructional materials and e-content tailored to the field of Accounting
• Integrate industry insights into curriculum development and classroom instruction

Mentorship:

• Guide, advise, and mentor students throughout their academic journeys
• Support student development and academic success

Professional Development:

• Create and facilitate professional short courses and workshops aimed at specific target groups and professional communities
• Demonstrate proven capability in developing and delivering professional workshops

Research:

• Enhance the academic landscape by publishing research findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
• Develop proposals and pursue funding opportunities for research related to accounting or associated fields (a plus)

Service:

• Undertake necessary responsibilities to support academic programs and their accreditations
• Contribute to the overall mission and growth of the university

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university
• Capability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at an AACSB-accredited university
• Experience in online/e-learning environments (preferred)
• Ability to integrate industry insights into curriculum and instruction
• Proven capability in developing and delivering professional workshops
• Professional certificate in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is a plus

Rank and Appointment Criteria:

Assistant Professor:

• PhD in Accounting from AACSB-accredited institution
• Demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching and research

Associate Professor:

• Minimum of 5 years of academic experience in a university setting
• Strong research profile with high-quality publications and impactful contributions
• Evidence of holding the same title at the time of application or from the last employing institution
