The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Abstract Mathematics. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to mathematical research and education at one of the UAE’s premier higher education institutions.

Position Overview:

The Department of Mathematics seeks a scholar with expertise in Abstract Mathematics, particularly Topology and the abstract approach of Linear Algebra. The successful candidate will contribute to building strong research groups while delivering high-quality education at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Research Focus Areas:

• Topology and its applications
• Abstract approach to Linear Algebra
• Foundational mathematical theories
• Pure mathematics research
• Building research capacity in Abstract Mathematics

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses
• Develop and maintain an active research program in Abstract Mathematics
• Secure internal and external research funding
• Publish research findings in esteemed, peer-reviewed journals
• Mentor students and supervise research projects
• Contribute to building strong research groups in Abstract Mathematics
• Participate in departmental and university service activities

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• PhD in Mathematics from an accredited institution
• Specialization in Topology and/or Abstract Linear Algebra
• Research proficiency with potential for funded research
• Commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels
• Strong dedication to academic service
• Fluency in English (language of instruction)
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and students

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postdoctoral experience in higher education institutions
• Demonstrated teaching excellence at university level
• Strong research record with peer-reviewed publications
• Experience in building research collaborations
