The Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) at the American University in Dubai (AUD) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean, with an anticipated start date in Spring 2027.

This is a senior academic leadership position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

About the Role

The Associate Dean will provide academic and administrative leadership across the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication.

The role includes responsibility for:

• Curriculum design and development.
• Learning outcomes assessment.
• Accreditation activities.
• Teaching effectiveness.
• Faculty development.
• Strategic planning.
• Institutional effectiveness.
• Student recruitment and retention.
• Faculty recruitment and retention.
• Academic resource and fiscal management.

The successful candidate will contribute to both the short-term and long-term strategic development of MBRSC.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold a terminal degree from an accredited, Western-accredited university in a discipline represented within the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication.

Candidates should also demonstrate:

• A record of excellence in teaching, research, and academic service.
• Experience in curriculum development.
• Experience in programme expansion.
• Experience in learning outcomes assessment.
• Experience with reporting for institutional effectiveness and accreditation processes.
• Experience in student recruitment and retention.
• Experience in faculty recruitment, development, and retention.
• Experience with sound fiscal management.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collegiality.
• The ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively.
• The ability to work effectively with multiple and diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English.

Arabic language proficiency is desirable.

Professional experience outside academia within the media sector is also preferred.

The Associate Dean will play a central role in strengthening the School’s academic quality and institutional effectiveness.
