Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences – Hematology, Qatar University

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) was founded in 2016, following a 30-year success story as a department within various colleges at Qatar University. CHS offers undergraduate (B.Sc.) programs in Biomedical Sciences, Human Nutrition, Public Health, and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as graduate programs in Biomedical Sciences (M.Sc. and Ph.D.), Public Health (MPH), and Genetic Counselling (M.Sc.).

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Teach courses (theory and practical) related to Hematology and Blood Bank
2. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, with proficiency in the relevant field for medical students
3. Contribute to various committees at the Program, College, and University level
4. Contribute to the research profile of the College through research publications
5. Serve as a student advisor
6. Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department

Qualifications

1. Ph.D. degree (or equivalent for clinical specialties) in Hematology, blood transfusion/blood bank, from a recognized and accredited university
2. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level
3. Clinical experience is preferred
4. ASCP certification in Hematology or blood banking is preferred
5. A strong record of relevant research experience, backed by a strong and consistent track record of research productivity
6. Familiarity with educational technologies used in the higher education sector
7. Willingness to work with teams
8. Awareness of working with people from diverse backgrounds
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills
