Job Title
Assistant / Associate / Full Professor in Dentistry (Open Specialty) — covering Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, and Basic Dental Sciences (including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Dental Materials)
Job Purpose
The faculty member serves as an academic leader delivering high-quality dental education aligned with MOHESR and CAA standards. The role integrates student-centered teaching, clinical competency development, impactful research, and interdisciplinary collaboration, to graduate competent, ethical, and practice-ready dental professionals while enhancing institutional research excellence.
Core Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Clinical Education
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses using competency-based, evidence-based, and technology-enhanced approaches
- Apply active learning strategies (case-based learning, problem-based learning, OSCEs, simulation, digital dentistry tools)
- Supervise preclinical laboratory sessions and clinical training
- Ensure clinical competency and patient safety standards
- Mentor students and supervise research projects, theses, and clinical case presentations
- Develop course syllabi aligned with QF Emirates, with CLO–PLO mapping
- Integrate digital tools, AI applications, and simulation technologies into teaching

2. Curriculum & Quality Assurance
- Design and continuously improve curricula in alignment with MOHESR and CAA accreditation standards
- Ensure constructive alignment between learning outcomes, teaching strategies, and assessment methods
- Contribute to accreditation processes and preparation of required documentation
- Participate in course and program evaluation, including assessment reports and continuous quality improvement
- Support horizontal and vertical integration across dental and basic science disciplines
3. Research & Scholarly Impact
- Maintain an active research portfolio, with publications in indexed journals
- Secure internal and external research funding
- Present research at national and international conferences
- Align research with national health priorities and innovation strategies
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research
- Promote interdisciplinary research across clinical and basic sciences
4. Student Advising & Academic Support
- Provide academic advising and guidance on program progression, professional development pathways, and career planning
- Support student well-being and facilitate access to university support services
- Participate in thesis/graduation project examination committees
5. Industry Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide clinical supervision and patient care within university clinics
- Establish partnerships with hospitals, dental centers, and healthcare organizations
- Contribute to continuing dental education (CDE/CPD) programs
- Engage in consultancy, outreach, and collaborative clinical/research initiatives
- Support student clinical placements and employability
6. Academic Service & University Engagement
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
- Participate in curriculum development and policy implementation
- Contribute to student recruitment, outreach, and academic events
- Foster an inclusive and professional academic environment
7. Community Engagement & Social Responsibility
- Participate in oral health awareness and community outreach programs
- Conduct screening camps and preventive dental initiatives
- Provide expertise to public health and community organizations
8. Professional & Continuous Development
- Engage in continuous professional development in dental education, research, and clinical practice
- Stay updated with advancements in digital dentistry, AI, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to improving institutional rankings and academic reputation
Qualifications & Requirements
| Education | Ph.D. in a relevant dental specialty or basic dental sciences, from an accredited, internationally recognized institution (full-time study mandatory) |
| Assistant Professor | 2–5 years academic teaching + 3–5 years clinical experience |
| Associate Professor | ≥5 years academic teaching + strong publication record |
| Full Professor | ≥8–10 years with sustained research leadership and funded research |
| Licensure | Eligibility for UAE dental licensure (MOH/DHA/DOH) for clinical specialties |
| Research | Active Scopus profile with rank-appropriate h-index; FWCI ≥ 1 preferred |
| Language | English (fluent, required); Arabic (desirable) |
