About the Role

The Department of Family and Community Medicine and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Sharjah’s College of Medicine is seeking a Lecturer of Public Health. This Lecturer of Public Health position involves teaching, curriculum development, and educational innovation, with active involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, facilitation, and scholarly activities in Public Health and Community Medicine.

Main Accountabilities & Expectations

As Lecturer of Public Health, the successful candidate will:

• Deliver teaching to undergraduate students and facilitate learning for postgraduate medical students
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement through the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs
• Promote excellence and innovation in education by adopting and advancing evidence-based teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies
• Develop and implement faculty development initiatives aimed at strengthening teaching competencies and enhancing academic practice among faculty members
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to academic publications in public health and related disciplines

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related field
• A medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) is preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant academic or teaching experience
• Experience in teaching, assessment, and educational innovation
• Experience in research with publications in peer-reviewed journals in public health fields
• Experience in technology-enhanced learning and assessment methods
• Experience in public health and medical curriculum design and management is preferred
• Ability to support faculty in public health content, including organizing workshops and seminars, and conducting biostatistics lab sessions using statistical programs such as SPSS
