Job Description

The Interior Design Engineering program at Gulf University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Interior Design Engineering
position. This full-time academic role offers an opportunity to
contribute to a curriculum that includes internships, graduation
projects, field visits, and guest speakers.
Expected Qualifications:

  • PhD
    in Interior Design Engineering, Interior Design, Interior Architecture,
    Interior Built Environments, or closely related specialization
    from an accredited institutionCombined practice in both academia and industry

Expected Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years
    higher education academic teaching plus relevant professional industry
    experience in interior design, architecture, or built environment
    At least two (2) years direct industry practiceProven university-level teaching effectiveness in reputable accredited institutions with diverse cultural environmentsExperience in studio-based teaching, project-based instruction, assessment, and graduation project supervisionDemonstrated ability integrating real-world industrial case studies into academic teachingAdvanced expertise with CAD, BIM, and Autodesk modeling platforms in academic and professional contextsExperience developing courses aligned with national qualification frameworks and international accreditation standardsActive
    research engagement including peer-reviewed publications, design
    research outputs, conference participation, or funded research
    involvementCommunity service and professional societal impact project engagement

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver industry-relevant teaching in assigned interior design engineering courses aligned with departmental objectivesActively contribute to departmental, college, and university committeesEngage in research and scholarly activities with national and international collaborationParticipate in community engagement and outreach initiativesAssist with program coordination including scheduling, assessment moderation, and documentationSupport accreditation and quality assurance processes through evidence preparationContribute to student recruitment, open days, and promotional activitiesSupport development of laboratories, studios, learning resources, and digital infrastructureContribute to extracurricular initiatives including workshops, competitions, and field visits
