Job Description
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) invites applications for a Full Professor position to lead the Master of Global Health Policy (MGHP) program at the College of Public Policy (CPP). This senior role offers an opportunity to provide academic, strategic, and administrative leadership for a program that connects national health system contexts with international health policy challenges.

About the College of Public Policy:
The College of Public Policy has a mission to provide interdisciplinary, innovative, ethically informed analysis of real-world problems, to improve policy design and implementation in Qatar and the region, and to contribute to global knowledge and human development through ground-breaking ideas and research.
About the Master of Global Health Policy Program:
The Master of Global Health Policy (MGHP) is a full-time, two-year degree program delivered in-person by the College of Public Policy at HBKU. The program connects national health system contexts with international or global challenges in health policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
- Provide academic, strategic, and administrative leadership for the MGHP program in advancing evidence-based, policy-relevant, and globally engaged education and research
- Lead the continued development, review, and enhancement of the MGHP curriculum
- Oversee program quality assurance, accreditation-related processes, and continuous improvement
Partnership Development:
- Strengthen and expand partnerships with government entities, international organizations, health institutions, and other relevant stakeholders
- Support teaching, research, and policy engagement
Teaching:
- Teach graduate-level courses aligned with MGHP Program Learning Outcomes in areas such as global health policy analysis, health systems, health economics, policy processes, culturally responsive communication, and ethical public-service-oriented leadership
- Supervise graduate student capstone projects, master’s theses, and independent research
Research:
- Maintain an internationally recognized research profile in global health policy, health systems, health governance, health economics, or related fields
- Lead and secure externally funded research projects including national and international grants
- Publish in high-impact journals and contribute to regional and global debates
- Promote applied, policy-relevant research informing decision-making
Academic Service:
- Mentor junior faculty and contribute to faculty development, research capacity building, and academic leadership
- Disseminate research findings through publications, policy reports, conferences, public engagement, and scholarly presentations
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Dean or the University
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Global Health Policy, Public Policy, Public Health, Health Economics, or a closely related field
- Academic qualifications, scholarly standing, and professional experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of Full Professor
- Distinguished record of high-impact publications, externally funded research, graduate teaching excellence, and ability to bridge research, teaching, and policy practice
- Recognized expertise in global health systems, health policy, health governance, health economics, and/or applied policy analysis
- 12+ years of relevant full-time university teaching, research, and academic leadership experience
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, student supervision, curriculum development, and program leadership at the graduate level
- Evidence of active participation in scholarly and academic affairs of a university and/or relevant professional associations
- Sustained portfolio of scholarly achievement including funded research grants and peer-reviewed publications
- Evidence of strong regional and international reputation within the discipline
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, cultures, and communities
- Proven ability to develop networks, collaborations, and partnerships within HBKU and with national and international partner institutions
- Strong track record of engaging and collaborating with policy stakeholders, government entities, international organizations, and health-sector institutions
- Arabic language is an advantage
