The American University of the Middle East (AUM), ranked #1 University in Kuwait by QS and THE World University Rankings 2026, invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering within the College of Engineering and Technology. Positions are available starting Spring or Fall Semester 2026.

Research & Teaching Specializations:
Successful applicants should demonstrate teaching experience and research interest in at least one of the following topics:
- Building Envelop
- Building Energy and Building Performance
- Building Control and Lighting
- Indoor Building Environment
- Acoustics Engineering
- BIM (Building Information Modeling)
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning)
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in Architectural Engineering
- Prepare teaching materials, class activities, quizzes, assessments, and exams
- Maintain and improve competence in subjects being taught
- Guide, lead, and mentor students in research projects
- Supervise and assist students in all aspects related to courses
Student Support & Mentorship:
- Evaluate, monitor, and mentor student academic progress
- Demonstrate strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at undergraduate level
Research & Scholarship:
- Significantly contribute to the advancement of research activities
- Publish research findings in refereed journals
- Maintain excellent publication records, particularly during the last five years
- Demonstrate demonstrable research capability
Service & Collaboration:
- Passionately support college and departmental activities with leadership, commitment, accountability, and collegiality
- Participate in departmental and college meetings and activities
- Serve and support functional activities of departmental committees
- Supervise and support Teaching Assistants and Lab Instructors
- Engage actively in promoting the growth of AUM
- Participate in strategic activities and events
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Head of Department
Required Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Architectural Engineering or related field from an internationally accredited university
- Excellent publication records, particularly during the last five years
- Demonstrable research capability and pursuit of academic achievements
- Solid commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at undergraduate level
- Ability to work in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable skills in oral and written English
- Industry experience is a plus
