Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), the first accredited smart/online learning university in the region, invites applications for full-time resident faculty positions in Finance at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. This role offers exceptional scholars the opportunity to advance innovative education from our Dubai campus.

Position Overview:
HBMSU is seeking exceptional scholars passionate about advancing innovative online education. Successful candidates will join a dynamic, learner-centric institution dedicated to excellence in smart learning. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a fully online environment, contribute to the development of engaging digital course content, and maintain an active record of research and scholarly contributions in their specific field.

Position Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance using HBMSU’s interactive smart learning platforms
• Engage learners through fully online delivery while maintaining on-campus presence
• Foster analytical, financial, and applied skills in students

Curriculum Development:

• Design and update course materials to incorporate emerging trends in finance, digital transformation, and financial technology
• Develop engaging digital course content for online delivery
• Integrate industry best practices and contemporary financial frameworks

Research:

• Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
• Maintain an active record of research and scholarly contributions in Finance
• Apply multidisciplinary approaches (social sciences, IT, data analytics) to address modern financial challenges
• Pursue research funding opportunities
• Meet AACSB requirements and School thought leadership criteria

Mentorship:

• Supervise and mentor students in research projects and dissertations
• Provide academic guidance and scholarly support
• Guide learners in rigorous research methodologies and ethical practices

Professional Development:

• Develop and deliver workshops and seminars for professionals in finance
• Contribute to the academic community through ongoing scholarly engagement

Service:

• Contribute to program accreditation and academic governance
• Participate in outreach activities to enhance program visibility
• Join committees and support community initiatives
• Participate regularly in campus events
• Remain an integral part of HBMSU’s vibrant academic community

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB-accredited university (ABD candidates near completion will be considered)
• Strong scholarly preparation with ability to teach and publish effectively in English
• Strong record of research or clear evidence of research potential (ABDs should have working papers on track for submission to top-tier journals)
• Must meet AACSB academic qualification criteria
• Ability to teach and engage learners effectively in online undergraduate and graduate programs
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and methodologies
• Expertise in finance, investments, corporate finance, or related areas
• Commitment to HBMSU’s mission of transforming learning through technology and innovation
