Job Description
The Global College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) seeks an experienced Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation for this executive management position. The role provides strategic leadership in quality assurance systems and prepares the institution for the OAAAQA Institutional Standards Assessment Stage 2 Review in September 2027.
Position Overview:
This executive role reports directly to the Dean of College and oversees the Quality Assurance and Compliance Office. The Director will serve as the strategic focal point for all accreditation matters with OAAAQA and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) in Oman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight of quality assurance, enhancement, and accreditation systems
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet accreditation standards
- Ensure institutional compliance with OAAAQA, MoHERI, and government regulations
- Lead and develop the Quality Assurance and Compliance Office team
- Liaise with senior academic and administrative staff to enhance quality assurance
- Advise the Dean on policy changes from external regulatory bodies
- Report to the Dean and Academic Board on quality assurance matters
- Maintain relationships with OAAAQA and MoHERI stakeholders
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Doctorate from an internationally recognized higher education institution
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in quality assurance and accreditation
- Minimum 8 years of experience with MoHERI regulations and procedures in Oman
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and presentation skills)
- Excellent interpersonal and team leadership capabilities
- Strong understanding of national and international quality assurance standards
