Job Description

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), in partnership with the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), invites applications for the prestigious NCSA Professorship Chair in Data and Cyber Security at the rank of Full Professor. This unique role is supported by a generous grant from the NCSA and focuses on advancing critical infrastructure security in Qatar.

We are seeking an internationally recognized scholar and practitioner with a distinguished record in cyber security to lead applied research, teach cutting-edge courses, and strengthen partnerships between academia, government, and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct high-impact applied research in critical infrastructure security, aligned with Qatar’s national cyber security priorities.
• Teach one course per semester in the Data and Cyber Security program, which includes applied cryptography, network security, ethical hacking, and industrial control systems security.
• Liaise with the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) and industry stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives and research projects.
• Supervise research students and contribute to the master’s program in artificial intelligence and cognitive cybersecurity.
• Lead workshops and initiatives that enhance Qatar’s critical infrastructure security posture.
• Contribute to the academic and service missions of the College of Computing and Information Technology.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• A PhD in Cyber-Security or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university.
• A minimum of 10 years of teaching and research experience in a higher education institution.
• Preferably 5 years of professional experience as a practitioner in critical infrastructure security.
• A distinguished research record with high-quality publications in top-tier journals.
• An excellent record of supervising research students.
• Thorough knowledge of various cyber security areas and digital literacy in current and emerging technologies.
• Commitment to applied and experiential learning, continuous professional development, and collaborative engagement.

This is a 10-month renewable full-time position offering a competitive package and the opportunity to make a significant impact on cyber security in Qatar.
