The Department of English Language and Literature in the College of Arts and Applied Sciences at Dhofar University is seeking to recruit a faculty member at the rank of Lecturer with a specialization in English Language/ESP/English Applied Linguistics/ELT, starting on 1st February 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will contribute to the department’s mission by providing high-quality research, teaching, and community service.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

1. Hold a full-time master’s degree in English Language/ESP/English Applied Linguistics/ELT from a university recognized by MOHERI.
2. The candidate’s Master’s Degree cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) should be no less than 2.75 on a 4-point scale for Omani nationals (3.30 for non-Omanis).
3. Candidates must have at least three years of higher education teaching experience in English Language/English Applied Linguistics/ELT at recognized institutions of higher education, post obtaining the master’s degree.
4. Preference will be given to those with significant contributions to scientific research and published work in the fields of English Language/ESP/English Applied Linguistics/ELT.
5. Candidates must have at least two (2) papers published in recognized peer-reviewed journals. These papers must not be derived from the candidate’s master’s thesis.
6. The candidate should be under 40 years of age as of the appointment date.
7. An IELTS (academic) score of 7.0 is a must.
