The Department of English Language and Literature in the College of Arts and Applied Sciences at Dhofar University is seeking to recruit a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in Translation, starting on 1st February 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to contribute to the department’s vision by providing high-quality research, teaching, and community service.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- The candidate must hold a full-time PhD in Translation Studies (English/Arabic) from a university recognized by MOHERI.
- The candidate’s Master’s degree cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) should be no less than 3.20 on a 4-point scale.
- Candidates must have at least two years of higher education teaching experience in Translation Studies at recognized institutions of higher education, post-PhD.
- Preference will be given to those with significant contributions to scientific research and published work in Translation field.
- Candidates must have at least two (2) papers published in recognized peer-reviewed journals. These papers must not be derived from the candidate’s Master’s thesis.
- The candidate should be under 45 years of age as of the appointment date.
