About Candidate
Dr. Riccardo Boiocchi is a Muslim Convert.
He has about 14 years of experience in the field of wastewater treatment, mathematical modelling, process control, and biological processes.
He is a technologist at the Italian Institute for Environmental Protectiona and Research and mainly deals with environmental data for European legislation such as Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) and Water Reuse Regulation (2020/741).
He is science-oriented, passionate about environmental science and engineering, loves to write scientific articles on environmental issues.
Teaching is his great passion and has experience in doing so even at high levels.
He has worked abroad in Denmark and Canada where he was able to aquire expert international knowledge in the field of wastewater treatment, modelling and control.

▪ Upgrading and validation of a model for rotating-belt filter systems used as TSS-removing technologies, ▪ Development, implementation and validation of a novel model for VFA enhancement within primary clarifiers, ▪ Development, implementation and testing of control strategies enhancing solid removal in rotating-filter systems by polymer addition.
▪ Development, implementation and calibration of a novel multiple-thickness biofilm model for one-stage partial nitritation/anammox treatment; ▪ Development a novel procedure for calibration of sequencing-batch biological models; ▪ Development, calibration and validation of a novel model for UASB treatment; ▪ Model parameter uncertainty analysis; ▪ Scenario analysis for the management and optimization of UASB systems.
