Job Description

Australian University Kuwait invites applications for an Assistant Professor B position in Management Information Systems within the College of Administrative & Financial Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Head of Department for preparation, teaching, assessment, and coordination of the student teaching and learning process.

Position Overview:
The faculty member will enhance laboratory activities and facilities when applicable, participate in research activities, and contribute to the academic mission of the university.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop descriptions and summaries of units included in the curriculum
• Prepare assessments for evaluation and improvement of student performance
• Prepare learning sources for library as reference for students
• Determine needed IT resources to facilitate academic plans
• Maintain accurate records of student data (grades, attendance)
• Supervise student projects
• Substitute for other instructors within field or discipline in case of absence
• Actively contribute to serving the society
• Participate in graduation ceremonies
• Participate in design, coordination, execution, evaluation, and refinement of unit syllabus for learning outcomes in accordance with accreditation requirements
• Teach and execute unit syllabus to enable student success
• Act as academic advisor across multiple units with regular follow-up on student progress
• Work cooperatively with senior University Administration and other unit coordinators to design, implement, and evaluate remediation programs
• Participate in laboratory activities as required
• Undertake research activities as principal for funded and non-funded research projects leading to publications in international refereed journals
• Present papers at international and regional conferences and appropriate seminars
• Develop joint research proposals with colleagues inside and outside the university
• Collaborate with local professional and scientific associations and institutions
• Comply with AU policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Department

Qualifications:

• PhD in relevant field

Required Experience:

• 5 years of experience in university teaching, research, or serving the professional industry
• Up to 3 peer-reviewed international journals with impact factor
• Industry exposure through research, consultancy, or professional activities
• Ability to design, deliver, and appraise units
• Honors project supervision experience
• Professional association memberships
