Job Description

Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) invites applications for Assistant Professor positions in Chemical Engineering within the College of Engineering. Applications are welcome at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor).

About the Department:
The Department of Chemical Engineering is recently established to promote excellence in education and research, foster creativity and innovation leading to entrepreneurship.

Preferred Specialization Areas:

  • Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics
  • Process Control & Instrumentation
  • Process Modelling & Simulation
  • Reaction Engineering
  • Biotechnology
  • Nanotechnology and Renewable Energy Applications
  • Desalination and Water Treatment

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees all in Chemical Engineering (preferably from North American accredited institutions)
  • Proven US/Canada academic teaching, research, and ABET experiences preferred
  • Professional registrations preferred
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Familiarity with technology-infused academic environments
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Ability to develop funded research programs
  • Postdoctoral research experience preferred

Additional Requirements for Associate/Full Professor:

  • Letter of promotion from an academic institution with documented due process to the rank

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to school and faculty policy and practice in teaching
  • Play significant role in course design, development, and planning
  • Play significant role in course review, assessment, and quality assurance
  • Develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations
  • Provide general support and guidance to students
  • Maintain appropriate scholarly or professional development activity
  • Participate in comprehensive advisement of students
  • Contribute to overall work of college and external organizations
  • Contribute to management and administrative processes
  • Participate in, manage, or lead major initiatives for accreditation
  • Participate in recruitment, management, development, and mentoring of colleagues
