Mokhtar Ounis holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Toulon in France. His thesis is on conceptual metaphors in political communication. He taught at the University of Hail in Saudi Arabia for ten years. He is the author of Unpacking Metaphor-related Prepositions in Political Discourse: From Polysemous to Powerful (published by Routledge). His main research interests are conceptual metaphor theories, critical discourse analysis, political rhetoric, and cognitive semantics.
